Challenges Of The New Tax Bill, A Citizen’s View: Created behind closed doors, rushed to the Senate floor in order to avoid a filibuster, and passed by a narrow margin, the so-called Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is expected to raise the federal debt by as much as $2 trillion over the next decade. Most of the benefits will go to large corporations and those who get income from investments. For example, the bill is expected to save Donald Trump about $11 million in just the next year. Democratic Perspective’s Steve Williamson, Mike Cosentino and Klaus Von Stutterheim discuss the impact of this extraordinarily complex bill.
