There is also considerable evidence that the death penalty is disproportionately applied to the poor and to minorities, yet many people in Arizona, and other conservative regions in the U.S., continue to support it. Democratic Perspective’s Mike Cosentino, Gary LaMaster, and Steve Williamson discuss the barbaric history of capital punishment, the myths propagated by the politicians who seek to justify it, and the evidence which suggests that it neither deters crime nor delivers justice to the families of victims of violence.
